Our surgical clinic is divided into two centres: 

Centre for visceral surgery (House 14) and
Centre for minimally invasive surgery

The visceral centre (ward 8) specialises in the surgery of gullet, stomach and bowel surgery as well as liver and pancreas surgery. In these areas, we perform all kinds of operations except transplantations. In our joint internal-surgical ward, patients with tumour of gastronointestinal tract and patients with inflammatory diseases in the intestines (Morbus Crohn, Colitis ulcerosa) are treated. 

Patients with thyroid diseases are also treated in close cooperation with the department for internal medicine.

In the centre for minimally invasive surgery (ward 7) the most procedures of minimally invasive surgery are well-established. The areas of specialisation are cholecystectomy (removal of the gall bladder), appendectomy (appendix removal), scars/ abdominal hernia repair, TAPP inguinal hernia repair.
