Optional Services
In addition to general medical, nursing and therapeutic treatment, the costs of which are covered by your medical insurance provider, you may choose among certain optional services. These include accommodation in a single bedroom (additional charge depending on room furnishing between € 95.99 and € 98.51 per day), a double room (additional charge of € 43.84 per day), or receiving treatment by the department’s head physician. Optional services are agreed to in writing between you and the hospital.
Fifty five percent of the income from private medical payments goes to the hospital’s sponsoring organisation, which then makes funds available to the hospital for construction projects which are not financed by the state. As such, proceeds from 1999 and 2000 were used for the construction of the Obstetrics Unit. An additional 30% of proceeds are offset in the hospital budget and reallocated to health insurance providers. Only 15% of proceeds go to the eligible physician and are often used for additional purchases that cannot be financed from the hospital’s budget.
