In the Havelhöhe Community Hospital, the treatment of cancer patients is a central priority. Our main objective is to support and accompany the patient and work with them to find the most suitable therapy. Because cancer always affects the entire person, we offer our patients an integrative treatment concept, in which we complete the process with modern medicine along with complementary medicinal therapies. Such approaches include therapies developed from anthroposophical medicine, among others, like rhythmic massage, eurhythmy or art therapies designed to strengthen self-healing powers. In addition, herbal, homeopathic and anthroposophic remedies such as mistletoe therapy are used.
A high diagnostic and specialist expertise in the treatment of oncological diseases has developed in all units of the Havelhöhe Community Hospital since 1995. This includes pain management, psycho-oncology, palliative care, the general care of nearly all cancers in the General Internal Medicine Unit, as well as organ-specific cancers affecting the lung, breast, female pelvic organs and the gastrointestinal tract.
Since 2011, the Havelhöhe Community Hospital has been recognised as a hospital with a designated oncology focus in the state hospital plan.
