Rhythmical massage

Developed by doctors Ita Wegman and Margarethe Hauschka rhythmical massage is a form of therapy, which touches and moves the person in his inner emotional state beyond the physical touch. Respectfully recognised and inviting gestures of touch build a basis for treatment. Due to compressing and releasing qualities of grasps, all layers of the tissue are reached, down to the deep layers, without a pressure. This way, body fluids are set in motion and an impetus, which exists in all living fluids, is stimulated. Congestions, firmnesses, deposits become liquid, life powers are mobilised. The rhythm is used as a healing element. There, where the rhythm has gotten out of balance, an adjustment is achieved with the help of external impulses. For example, in case of exhaustion, stimulating and building up procedures are applied, by high blood pressure - purifying and comforting.

After each treatment, the patient takes a rest. The body has an opportunity to linger on the events that have taken place during the massage. The emerging heat flow can then expand in the whole body.

There is a wide range of applications for rhythmical massage, almost no disease is excluded. Organ unctions of the heart, kidneys, bladder, liver and spleen is a specialty. Special rhythmic unctions are applied to almost all respective body organs, in order to support them in their own function.

Undulated massage

An anthroposophic physician Simeon Pressel (1905 – 1980) developed an undulated massage.

It produces a deep throughflow and body invigoration. The lower massage of the calves and small of the back has an extensive impact on the metabolism and supports courage, energy and resiliency.

The upper massage of the back, crest of the neck and arms produces a build-up effect, clarity of the consciousness and mental orderliness. Both are carried out in a rhythmical change and can be understood as a lemniscate, which is effective not only locally, but also from its opposite pole. A stimulating and healing effect begins during the external treating of the musculature and extends to internal organs.

Areas that have fallen out of processes of life are returned into their functional interaction. Waking up of flesh enables perception of one-sidedness such as hardenings or tensions and own initiation of a process of change through strengthening the power needed to confront yourself.

Its effectiveness manifests itself in stimulation of powers operating in the living tissue: a feeling of easiness, of wholeness and strong and deep warming are experienced. People feel encouraged and more energetic; they begin dealing with their disease with an increased strength.

The massage is pictorial (visual and symbolic) because of its lively grasps and of the effect that is connected with them. It strengthens the rhythmic system, the spot from which healing can start and be achieved. The application is modified according to the disease.
