Examination Procedures
We offer all modern conventional and interventional examination procedures in our Pulmonary Unit. These include:
- arterial blood gas testing
- measurement of respiratory airflow and respiratory volume (whole body plethysmography)
- measurement of lung diffusion capacity
- measurement of respiratory drive
- measurement of lung function under physical stress (6 min walking test, oxygen uptake, spiroergometry)
- measurement of pulmonary blood pressure (pulmonary hypertension)
- measurement of respiratory control during sleep (polygraphy und polysomnography)
- endoscopy of the nasal passages (rhinoscopy)
- endoscopy of the large bronchial airways (rigid and flexible bronchoscopy)
- examination of the pulmonary lymph nodes from the bronchi and oesophagus
- examination of the lower respiratory tract with miniature ultrasound probes
- examination of the respiratory tract with fluoroscopy
- examination of lung tissue with paracentesis guided by CT or ultrasound
- examination of the pulmonary pleura (thoracoscopy)
- local treatment of diseased airways using various procedures (stents, argon laser, ablation, valves)
- local treatment of diseased pulmonary pleura using various procedures (powders and suspensions)
