Motivated drug withdrawl
“Motivated drug withdrawl” offers a comprehensive medically supervised drug detoxification. The detoxification is carried out as part of our therapeutic community. The ward has space for 10 patients.
The team of station 15 consists of social workers, art and occupational therapists, nurses, a psychiatrist and a neurologist, a psychologist, a physician and a medical specialist for addiction. We carry our opiate detoxification of heroin, methadone, buprenorphine, benzodiazepine, alcohol, THC as well as of all illegal drugs and we treat mostly polytoxicomane patients. We also carry out detoxification in case of parallel consumption of other drugs while maintaining the substitution medications. The switch from methadone to buprenorphine (subutex) in patients during substitution therapy is possible after consulting with a physician that will further supervise the patient.
Alcohol or tablets detoxification are not carried out in the ward 5. For these patients there is a special therapy offer in the gastroenterological ward 9.
The basic idea of motivated withdrawl treatment has the goal to detoxicate solely the body since we want to do our best to individually help the drug addicted patients already in this unstable and often frightening first phase. For our patients there is a chance to undertake with the help of therapeutic support further necessary steps towards the therapy and alternative life prospects without drugs.
There is a ban on drugs and violence in our therapeutic community!
Out treatment concepts comprises
- medically supervised physical detoxification and treatment of secondary disorders.
- a binding therapeutic so called station program. It includes nursing care measures, regular groups and individual discussions, art therapies, relaxation groups, diverse sports activities as well as creative work.
We also offer social as well as psychological consultations.
We are cooperation partners of drug emergency in the programs “instant therapies” and “complete detoxification station 15”.
As an institution, we are recognised according to §§ 35/36 BtMB, admit patients from other regions, closely collaborate with drug counselling and treatment centres in Berlin and its surroundings and thus we support the way into treatment and follow-up centers.
Terms of admission for the station 15
If possible, candidates for station 15 should previously get in touch with drug counselling. Alongside with the medical referral they need a valid agreement from the insurance company about reimbursement of costs.
