Eqiupment/Hygiene

All endoscopic procedures are performed in accordance with the latest video (large screen) and technical (Olympus) standards. During the examination, we create picture documentation, followed by documentation of findings (View Point), according to the guidelines of the German Society for Digestive and Metabolic Diseases (DGVS).
The endoscopes are regularly serviced and constantly renewed and updated, according to the contract for total service supply with Olympus company.

All endoscopes, as well as their accessories (provided these are no single-use materials), are prepared in accordance with the strict hygiene guidelines. Every single examination – after mechanical preliminary cleaning by our trained staff - is followed by a standardized fully automatic cleaning and disinfection in special washing machines. The disinfection process does not allow any manual intervention. The devices undergo regular microbiological examination.

Mechanically and chemically cleaned endoscopic accessories for multiple applications, such as catheters, forceps for sampling or lops for removal of polyps, are placed into the ultrasonic bath, wrapped up and then sterilized in a hot-air sterilizer.
