Concomitant Psychological Illnesses

It is a little known fact that patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes may suffer from psychological problems such as depressive disorders, acceptance problems and lack of motivation. Supporting techniques from anthroposophic medicine are available at our facility and can assist with the treatment of such problems.

The Diabetes Unit has a psychologist specialised in diabetes (DDG – German Diabetes Association) who, in certain cases, works together closely with our Department of Psychosomatics and Psychotherapeutic Medicine and their psychologists. This forms a team of specialists who can provide care to diabetics with severe acceptance disorders and can support the diabetes team with their professional expertise in case of concomitant psychological disorders.
